We offer study groups specifically for immigrant women who need to expand their social networks, overcome isolation, gain more knowledge about, and get closer to the Swedish labor market. We serve as a bridge between women and employment opportunities! In addition to our study groups, we run targeted projects focused on immigrant women, where we work in various ways to support and empower them. Examples include combating isolation and loneliness among older women, developing innovative methods for public speaking, learning languages beyond traditional approaches, understanding how to interact with individuals who have experienced trauma - and much more.
We run a broad range of activities that attract a diverse group of participants - in terms of background, age, experiences, and the different paths that have led them to IKF. This diversity creates a unique group dynamic, atmosphere, and sense of dignity that acts as a catalyst for the ambition to become engaged, to be part of Swedish society, and to enter the labor market. Our goal is to serve as a stepping stone and supportive platform for foreign-born women in Malmö - not a final destination.
IKF Malmö is not a formal school and does not issue official certifications. However, we offer vocational preparatory study groups for those seeking to get closer to the job market, as well as regular study groups for individuals who want to learn Swedish, build new connections, and expand their knowledge on various subjects.
Absolutely! At IKF Malmö, anyone can become a study group leader. Do you have a topic you’re passionate about or knowledge you'd like to share with others? Get in touch with us - we’d love to explore the possibilities together!
Joining a vocational preparatory study group at IKF Malmö means gaining both theoretical and practical knowledge in a specific field, such as healthcare or working with children and youth. Upon completing the course, you will receive a certificate verifying that you have acquired the skills necessary for internships, substitute positions, or employment. The program covers essential topics including pedagogy, care, hygiene, relevant laws, leadership, and specialized knowledge within the field.
Membership is available for a fee of 50 SEK per calendar year, with the option to contribute a higher amount if you wish (minimum 50 SEK). To participate in our study groups, there is an annual fee of 250 SEK, which grants you access to unlimited study group sessions throughout the year.
As a member of the International Women’s Association in Malmö, you support our important work in helping immigrant women achieve inclusion and establish themselves in Sweden. Membership in the organisation grants you the right to participate in annual meetings and the opportunity to influence the organisation’s activities. Membership is valid for one year, and when it’s time to renew, you will receive information via the email address you provided upon joining. As a member, you will be invited to our events, such as the annual Christmas party, the March 8th celebration at City Hall, IKF Day, and much more!
The calendar year runs from November 15 to November 15.
