To strengthen inclusion and integration in the labor market, it is essential to enhance the capacity of civil society to develop innovative, scalable, and sustainable solutions through broad cross-sector collaboration.
This project enabled businesses, civil society, the public sector, academia, and citizens (the needs owners) to jointly work within the Embassy of Sharing neighborhood in Hyllie, Malmö, focusing on mission-driven innovation. Specifically, the initiative explored how local currencies can contribute to labor market integration and foster a more inclusive and sustainable city.
The project aimed to investigate, through cross-sector collaboration and based on lessons learned from previous initiatives, how local currency can be used to facilitate greater labor integration and social inclusion. It has contributed to the development and dissemination of new solutions involving local currency as a social incentive program, with the long-term goal of transforming labor market structures and societal systems through local urban development projects.
The project was carried out through a purposefully composed partnership, coordinated by the International Women’s Association in Malmö, in collaboration with Altitude Meetings, the Business Development Unit of Malmö City, and the School of Economics at Lund University. The project was funded by Vinnova.
