Everyone has something they are good at, it’s just a matter of discovering your talent and then developing it further through hard work and focused practice.
As part of our Arvsfonden-funded project Tjejdriven, we have had the privilege over three years to meet and work with many young people. These youths excel in various fields such as art, technology, IT, film, sports, math, philosophy, and more. We have also encountered young individuals who were unaware of their own strengths but were eager to get involved in something meaningful.
In Alla Har Talang (Everyone Has Talent), we created a developmental leadership and mentorship program based on young people’s potential and strengths. The project’s purpose has been to unlock the talents and potential of youth and provide them with practical tools to become leaders. We aimed to give Malmö’s youth the opportunity to design lectures, courses, workshops, study circles, tournaments, and more - based on their own interests. Furthermore, we wanted to help them discover their talents and strengths so they could continue to develop them.In other words, the idea is for the youth to identify their strengths, organize independent activities, recruit participants, motivate, and lead their own groups according to a set schedule.
The project’s primary target group has been young people aged 15-25 with immigrant backgrounds, but it has also welcomed youth of ethnic Swedish background. The project has been funded by the Swedish Inheritance Fund (Allmänna Arvsfonden).
