Mammakraft

Mammakraft - Parental Strength in Practice

A course for mothers with children in early adolescence who want to strengthen their role as parents while gaining a better understanding of the support society can offer. Over ten sessions, participants will meet experts, ask questions, and gain practical tools. Perhaps most importantly, they will have a safe space to share experiences and support each other. The course is offered twice a year and is conducted as a civil-society public partnership (IOP) between the International Women’s Association in Malmö (IKF Malmö) and the City of Malmö.

Together We Strengthen Mothers

Mammakraft offers a unique opportunity to meet representatives from, among others:

  • Social services
  • Schools
  • The Police Authority
  • Malmö City’s resource teams
  • Other key societal actors

Through dialogue and knowledge exchange, mothers gain both insight into how society functions and practical guidance on how to meet their teenager’s needs in a way that strengthens both the parent-child relationship and their confidence as a parent.

Three Course Sessions each semester

The course is held at three different locations to meet the needs of mothers:

  • IKF Malmö
  • MKB Herrgården
  • YallaLots Arabic-speaking

This makes it easier for more mothers to participate, regardless of their life situation.

Who Can Participate?

All mothers with children aged 10 and above are welcome to join the course. It does not matter whether it is the first child to become a teenager or if you have participated before – all experiences are equally valuable in the group.
